Key Features of CD Covers

CD covers-

Key features –
Central image – Can be a picture of the performer, a piece of artwork or an image relating to the album. The use of a performer may be to attract the attention of the audience and suggest seriousness in the performers music

Star image – The star might be trying to convey a message to the audience, through visual codes eg dress code, and colour.

Design and layout – the design features, font styles and typefaces can advertise/reflect the genre of the CD, and the performer.

Genre – One of the Aims of the CD cover is to communicate with the audience by portraying the genre of the music. This can be done through images and other visual codes associated with the music style.
