Key Features of a Magazine Cover
Key features of a magazine cover:
A slogan/tagline that makes a claim of quality to attract the audience.
A masthead that suggests what the magazine is about.
A sell line that may persuade the customer to buy it instead of its other competitors.
A central image that usually a current, popular celebrity.
Discourse: The topics and language used by the media text (such as a magazine cover). It tends to centre on body image.
A cover line(s) that suggests what the content is and often contains teasers and rhetorical questions.
A mode of address, where the content ‘peaks’ to the reader – for example, some women’s magazines sound chatty and casual.
